I just had a heart attack. For some reason my scripts all disconnected from my player. He wouldnt run, jump, move. it was a mess. Good thing I had the mario exercise to go back and refer to so I knew what goes where and how to connect what. I had to re link everything including the ground checks and camera target etc. My heart stopped when I saw this, and I have no idea why. I didnt change, more or rename anything. It was working perfectly fine last time I used it and this time when I launched the game it had stopped working. Everything seems to be working fine now – exept he seems to be a little static and glitchy and I cant seem to get the gravity / jump force correct to how it was 😦
UPDATE:
I think Ive fixed everything. I had to fix the enemy chase feature as well. The enemy wasnt working properly and wouldn’t turn around / change direction. I also decided to add more spikes (because it’ll look super boring if they all the same. So I’ve created 5 different variations of the spikes but its also easy to distort them in unity as well (if I think its becoming too repetitive). On top of that I added in more code (images) and the game is starting to take form.
I’ve also been watching some tutorials on the Pro Camera 2D thing. There are literally no tutorials on it, its hard to find them but i found that they explain each feature pretty well on their website so I’ve mainly been referring to that. It is looking good. Ive got a nice zoom section at the start where it stats very zoomed in and then you get to the edge and it expands / zooms out and you see the floor below. But you have to be quick since the evil character is right there and ive made him pretty quick.
